Nepal - Peak Climbing in Nepal - Island - Mera Peak Climbing

Renjo Pass, Gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, EBC, Island Peak, Amalapcha pass and Mera peak:-

The most trekkers go to Everest Base camp trekking. but there are many different trekking rote and most challenging too.

Flight to Lukla and trek Tenjung Hillary route to Namche and trek decent to, Thame, Renjo Pass, gokyo Ri, Chola Pass, Kalapathar, Everest Base Camp, Island peak, over challenging rote Amphulapcha pass and Mera peak. But in this three passess Renjo and Aphulapcha is most hard for normal trekker and if incase coming bad weather, please do not this pass. because both pass is very long and please you most take right information form your trekking agency.

Well, normally I did many times first Mera peak, Amphulapcha pass and Island peak. but we did together with Dr. peter Meyer this route and I had realize, Acclimatization is very impotents for trekkers and climbers. so if you do this route, then you will have already good acclimatization for 6000m.so 2008 spring we had spend 4 weeks in this route and we had all successes with out any problem.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel & well come Diner.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.
Day 03: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2612m) 4 hrs.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3446m) 6 hrs.
Day 05: Namche - Rest for (for acclimatization) visit Everest view Hotel, khumjung, Museum etc.
Day 06: Namche to Thame (3800m) 5 hrs.
Day 07:
Thame to Lunden (4400) 6 hrs.
Day 08: Lunden to over Renjo pass (5345m) camp in Gokyo (4750m) 9 to 10 hrs.
Day 09: Early in the morning Gokyo RI overnight in Gokyo.
Day 10: Gokyo to Thangnak (4700m) 4-5 hrs.
Day 11: Thangna to over chola pass (5420m) camp at Zongla (4843m) 7 -9 hrs.
Day 12: Zongla to Goracshep (5151m) 6 hrs.
Day 13: Goracshep to Everest Base Camp (5360m) over night Gorackshep
Day 14: Gorackshep to kalapather (5545m) for best view of Mt. Everest and return back to Dingboche (4400m) 6 hrs.
Day 15: Dingboche to Chukung (3700m) 3 hrs & noon high king on chukung Ri.
Day 16: Island peak High camp (5500m) 4 to 5 hrs.
Day 17: Island peak summit (6189m) and over night in Base Camp (5100m) full day.
Day 18: Island peak base camp to Amphulapcha Base Camp(5350m) 5 hrs.
Day 19: Amphulapcha pass (5800m) over night Ice Lake ( 5600m) full day.
Day 20: Ice Lake to Chomlang Base Camp (4900m) 6 to 7 hrs.
Day 21: Chomlang base camp to Rato ordar Mera Base Camp (5200m) 4 hrs.
Day 22: Mera Bace Camp to Mera High Camp (5800m 4 hrs.
Day 23: Mera summit (6421m) back to Khare Mera Base Camp (5000m).full day.
Day 24: Khare to Kothe (3700m) 6 hrs.
Day 25: Kothe to Chatrabu (4400m) 6 hrs.
Day 26: Chatrabu to Lukla 6 to 7 hrs.
Day 27: flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 28: Rest and free day in Kathmandu.
Day 29: flight back to Home.
